Leader By Example - Inspirational Team Infusion

Shane Warne clearly demonstrated how self belief can make all the difference for the Rajasthan Royals.

Having come back from behind, he majestically took four wickets, however the pressure was still on Trivedi to come up with trumps, and boy did Shane Warne put on some inspirational pressure.

Guiding his fielders into position as though he was directing a satellite navigation system, he clearly demonstrated his photographic memory of the fielders positions between overs, and to some extent even between crucial deliveries within overs!

Napgur, April 5 (IANS) Rajasthan Royal defeated Deccan Chargers by 2 runs in an Indian Premier League match here Monday.
Set a winning target of 160, Deccan Chargers were all out for 157 with a ball to spare.
Rohit Sharma struck 73 off 44 balls, but Rajasthan Royals captain Shane Warne turned the game picking four wickets at a crucial time.

Towards the end it looked like an impossible task, but the wickets kept on coming and coming. Morkels catch with one hand, running away from the wicket with his back against the picth and into the crowd, was nothing short of sublime.

It eventually looked like the Deccan Chargers were through with a win, when the penultimate bowl was hit sky high looking for a boundary, but somehow, garvity defied the trajectory, and the ball came landing down into the hands of an omcoming fielder to seal the tantalising victory for the Rajasthan Royals.

What a great match, Rivan and Nihal went crazy and so did Rivan's Dad. Rivan's Mum was not phased by the comotion as she continued with her ironing, as if nothing had happened, and likewise Jasmine decided to watch Hannah Montana in the other room in protest, as if that was going to change the score!

Come on squire, we had just witnesses a momentous and nail biting finish to an exhilirating performance amidst an atmosphere that was near electric. IPL Cricket at Easter and World Darts at Christmas, what a treat, truly sensational cricket thriller!

Here goes the detailed analysis ...

The tossed Rajasthan Royals punched off their batting with 159 runs at 19.5 ovs as the Deccan charges bounced on the stumps. In the other end, Deccan Charges lost the game at the 19.5 ovs itself at 157 runs.
Man of the Match – Shane Warne
Kamaal Catch of the Match – Morne Morkel
Maximum Sixes Award – Adam Gilchrist
Scorecard:
Rajasthan Royals: 159/10(19.5 ov)
Deccan Chargers: 157/10 (19.5 ovs)
Rajasthan Royals Fall of wickets
1-16(Michael Lumb, 2.1 ov.),2-17(Naman Ojha, 2.3 ov.),3-94(Faiz Fazal, 11.0 ov.),4-103(Yusuf Pathan, 12.4 ov.),5-130(Abhishek Jhunjhunwala, 15.2 ov.),6-130(Abhishek Raut, 15.5 ov.),7-136(Shane Watson, 16.4 ov.),8-140(Shane Warne, 17.4 ov.),9-145(Aditya Dole, 18.3 ov.),10-159(Siddharth Trivedi, 19.5 ov.)
Deccan Chargers Fall of wickets
1/26 (VVS Laxman, 2.3 ov.), 2/47 (Adam Gilchrist, 4.5 ov.), 3/86 (Andrew Symonds, 10.1 ov.), 4/112 (Anirudh Singh, 13.5 ov.), 5/120 (Dwayne Smith, 15.3 ov.), 6/137 (Azhar Bilakhia, 17.1 ov.), 7/139 (Ryan Harris, 17.4 ov.), 8/156 (RP Singh, 19.3 ov.), 9/157 (Harmeet Singh, 19.4 ov.), 10/157 (Rohit Sharma, 19.5 ov.)
Shane Warne: One of those days where things went right for us. Our fielding and bowling was great tonight. We were 15-20 runs short and we had to make that up in our bowling. We all did well as a team and it’s nice to get a couple of wickets. We really responded well as a group, it was up to the experienced guys to lead the way for the youngsters and we did that. Watson was batting really well. Don’t write us off. Trivedi is an experienced campaigner and it’s good to have him back. When you love the game and play for 20 years, you enjoy every moment of it. Credit to Modi, this is a fantastic competition.

The Magnificent Six

Yuvraj Singh

has reinvented

Gary Sobers

Ravi Shastri

Herschelle Gibbs

36 Runs maximum from an over, incredible piece of Willow History

Left-hander Yuvraj's feat in the 19th over gave him the fastest 50 in the tournament off just 12 balls, eight deliveries less than what Bangladesh captain Mohammad Ashraful achieved against the West Indies.

Broad's first two balls were swung over fine leg, the third over cover, the fourth cut over point, the fifth pulled to mid-wicket and the last into the stands at long-on.

It was only the fourth instance in top cricket that six sixes were hit in an over after Garfield Sobers and Ravi Shastri did it in first-class cricket and Herschelle Gibbs in the World Cup earlier this year.

Yuvraj said he was reminded of the five sixes Dimitri Mascarenhas hit off his bowling during the sixth one-day international at the Oval in London earlier this month.

"I got more phone calls after that over than when I get for scoring a century," Yuvraj said after being named the man of the match.

Yuvraj finished with 58 off 16 balls with seven sixes and three boundaries to set up India towards victory in a match they had to win to stay in contention for the semi-finals.

1st Six swung over fine leg
2nd Six swung over fine leg
3rd Six swung over cover
4th Six cut over point
5th Six pulled to mid-wicket
6th Six sent into the stands at long-on.

Yuvraj Singh's savage assault on Stuart Broad made him the first batsman to hit six sixes in an over in Twenty20 internationals and the fourth in senior cricket. Garry Sobers and Ravi Shastri did it in first-class matches, Herschelle Gibbs in the World Cup and now Yuvraj. This is the excerpt from Cricinfo's ball-by-ball commentary ...

18.1 Broad to Yuvraj Singh, SIX, that's out the ground, super shot over cow corner and it just kept going up.

18.2 Broad to Yuvraj Singh, SIX, now that really is sweet, no more than a dismissive flick off his legs, swatting a fly, and the ball arcs deep into the crowd beyond backward square leg. The dodgy TV measurement says that's 111 yards but as it landed outside the ground how do they know? They guess that's how.

18.3 Broad to Yuvraj Singh, SIX, he's hitting them everywhere, he steps to leg and smashes the ball over extra cover and it keeps on traveling. The fireworks start on top of the scoreboard and they've been going off in the middle for some time.

18.4 Broad to Yuvraj Singh, SIX, Shiver me timbers! Broad goes round the wicket, bowls a filthy wide full toss and Yuvraj steers it over backward point and it clears the rope again.

18.5 Broad to Yuvraj Singh, SIX, down on one knee and larruped over midwicket, that one was more nine iron, it went into the night sky and dropped with a thud in the jubilant crowd. England have a team meeting.

Broad looks quizzical and miserable. Can he, can Yuvraj do it. Broad looks like a man who knows he is about to be mauled again.

18.6 Broad to Yuvraj Singh, SIX, and he has, Yuvraj leans back and smacks that over wide mid-on. It was the maximum from the moment it left that bat and the crowd was roaring as it flew.

Today against Australia Yuvraj Singh hit a phenomenal six at 119m.

We were there myslef, Nihal and Rivan.
Well atleast infront of the TV, it was as good as being in Durban in South Africa.

The Magnificent Seven

Rarely do you get to see 7 goals scored at Old Trafford by one side.

Further Updates Here

Smith 2-0 Argentina Style 1-2-3......Umpteen Passes Single Tap leading onto Alan's great finish
Rooney 3-0 Nice one Rooney, thanks Giggs and Ronaldo for setup
Ronaldo 4-0 Brilliant dive into the touchline to finish over into the goal

Half Time

Ronaldo 5-0 Brilliant Solo Effort
Carrick 6-0 Probably also the best goal of the night, what a brilliant swerve into top right
Evra 7-1 Nice finish off the post, good run.

Roma's DeRossi 6-1 Exquisite Flick into side of goal Gian Franco Zola Style

The pace was lightning fast, the atmosphere was electric, the fans were ecstatic.
Starting with a 1=2 deficit in Rome, United have never in the past come from behind in the European Championships. What a beautiful Easter Surprise we had in store, and the play was World Class dominated by Christiano Ronaldo's dribbles. He is now arguably the best player in the world.

Craig Bellamy's Brilliant 2 Goals

Rarely do I see 2 world class goals in the same premiership match(Blackburn vs Portsmouth 2-2), delivered by the same side and to make it that more special delivered by 1 person.

Craig Bellamy's first goal was a superb left footed curler of a strike into the far top right hand corner. Absolutely brilliant given that he was taken far out wide by the defender making the shot that much more impossible.

His second goal, was produced out of nothing simply by producing a 270 degree turn on the spot, and producing a fabulous strike this time making the goalkeeper dive towards the far top left hand corner. This goal would have made any worldclass player let alone a welshman very proud.

To sum the match up, an imprssive multiple somersault was performed by LuaLua following his Portsmouth goal.

Will try to find links to the videos for these and will keep all posted.
